Ok, so I can’t wait to wake up and have breakfast in the morning these days. Is it crazy? Well, wait until you try this overnight oats and you will be excited for your breakfast too. Buckwheat is naturally gluten free grain alternative. Licorice root has a distinct sweet flavor. Chia seeds and nut butter have a dose of protein, a bit of maple syrup for sweetness with the cherries and chocolate chips on top. Yum!
Licorice Buckwheat Overnight Oats
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup cream of buckweat cereal
- 3/4 cup non dairy milk
- pinch salt
- 1 tsp licorice root powder
- 1 tbsp maple syrup
- 2 tbsp chia seeds
- 1 tbsp nut butter
- 4 cherries, pitted and cut in half
- 1 tbsp chocolote chips
Instructions
- In the mason jar mix together cream of buckwheat, chia seeds, non dairy milk, licorice root powder, salt and maple syrup.
- Close the lid and refrigerate if overnight or up to 8 hours.
- In the morning add nut butter on top along with cherries and chocolate chips.
- Serve and enjoy.
